What nuru massage is

Nuru is a body to body massage. Your therapist spreads a clear, very slippery gel and massages you with her whole body. The word comes from the Japanese nurunuru, which means slippery. Because of the gel, nuru is done on a waterproof mattress and not on a massage bed, and it is always paired with a shower.

The Japanese way: a mattress of its own

At Fox 33 the air mattress has its own place in the room, set apart from the bed. That is the Japanese way of doing nuru, and it is how our rooms are set up. You start with a shower, then the massage happens on the mattress.

Each room is private for your whole session. It is cleaned after every guest and made up with fresh sheets and towels. Our team has a health check every month, and you can ask to see the current certificate at the front desk.
